Flashback to August of 2021…

My hiking trip to Sedona, AZ was only a couple weeks away.

Because I hadn’t been on the trail for a while I decided to update my gear.

So, off I went to Bill Jacksons. It had been several years since my last visit, and I was pleased to see it hadn’t changed – it was still the enchanting and inspiring Mom & Pop Outdoor Adventure Store, I had remembered. After taking it all in, I focused on the task at hand: grab boots, a backpack and head home to test it all out.

Immediately, the experienced hikers on staff asked about my trip. For the terrain, they suggested a light hiker trail shoe rather than boots that my ‘must have’ mindset told me to acquire. As for the backpack, they fitted me with one that hugs my body properly and had all the pockets required for my needs.

This was a gamechanger. If it hadn’t been for their expertise and guidance, I wouldn’t have had the proper gear for my Bucket List trip.

Not only did I leave the store that day feeling empowered and confident, but I also left that day as an employee.

Yes, I was so impressed by the attention to detail, I applied and was hired as the Compliance Officer for the gun shop. Just about one year later, I transitioned to the Accounts Payable Clerk/Office Manager where I continue to be involved with all departments. This is the perfect place for me as I also enjoy other outdoor experiences such as kayaking, snorkeling, and camping.
