Kayak Fishing Skool with Neil Taylor

Neil Taylor of Strike Three Kayak Fishing is the speaker and host of “Kayak Fishing Skool, ” a free instructional session usually held on the fourth Thursday evening of the month. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a friend. The April seminar will be for Beginners to kayak fishing. The seminar runs from 6:30 to 7:45 pm.

Help support the swim portion of the annual Escape from Fort De Soto Triathlon. Help local athletes and have fun doing it. T-shirts for volunteers.

Scuba Diving

April 12th

Letts Dive Meetups

Bill Jackson’s is now home to the Letts Dive Meetups for those interested in continuing their SCUBA diving education in a fun, comfortable environment, regardless of experience or ability.

Spearheaded by Joe and Brenda Letts, these meetups will bring together divers for gear demos, training programs, and domestic and international travel experiences.

Meetups will be held at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of every month at the Bill Jackson Shop for Adventure.

Joe and Brenda invite you decompress with them and mingle with your fellow divers.

Spearfishing Seminar

Seminar leader Kevin Bruington will deliver information, tips and tricks for you to get the most out of your underwater hunting adventures, no matter if you are a beginner or an expert diver.

Cost (price includes lunch): $35; Seminar plus video, “The Bare Bones of Spearfishing,” is $55.

Spearfishing Safari

Join the Bill Jackson’s staff and the crew of the Hook-N-Spear for a three-tank spearfishing adventure.

Cost: $150 per diver

You bring: speargun, dive certification, wetsuit, stringer, dive light, snorkel gear, regulator and all divers are required to have a Surface Signal Device (safety sausage marker).

If you are diving Air, dive computers are required (available for rent at Bill Jackson’s).

May 27th

Shark Dive

In a collaborative effort, Bill Jackson’s and the Florida Aquarium are offering divers the opportunity to swim among sharks, giant sea turtles, barracuda, moray eels and goliath grouper during the Diving with Sharks Experience on May 27.

This shark dive event also includes parking, a $10 lunch voucher, admission to the aquarium, a T-shirt, a photo of your dive, a behind-the-scenes tour and more.

Cost: $150.

Divers must be 15 years of age or older and are required to bring their certification card, dive mask, swim suit, and a towel. All other equipment is provided by the Florida Aquarium. Cancellation may be made with full refund up to seven days before the date of the trip.

Blackbeard’s Cruises in Bahamas

Create some memories of a lifetime and dive beautiful Caribbean waters in the Bahamas with us.

We’ll leave Nassau and travel the Upper Exuma Cays, diving on reefs, walls and doing drift dives in pristine waters. There are also opportunities for night dives and shark feeding dives. Leave the tank behind if you want and immerse yourself with mask and snorkel. We’ll also take time to feed wild iguanas.

Cost: $1,599 per diver

Includes:

  • Round-trip airfare out of Orlando International
  • Transfers to and from the airport/marina (Nassau)
  • Up to 20 dives (tanks and weights included; also includes night dives and shark feeding dive)
  • All meals and snacks
  • All beverages, including beer, wine and rum punch
  • Dormitory-style, fully air-conditioned cabins

Trip cost does not include:

  • Transportation to and from Orlando International
  • Gratuities for boat crew (15% recommended)
  • Dive/trip insurance

A deposit of $250 (per person) is required to reserve your spot. Balance is due no later than June 1, 2018. Cancellation may be made before this date. There is no refund after June 1, 2018 unless the trip spot is filled.
