An Introduction to Fly Fishing

Fly fishing is a captivating and intriguing sport.  It is a multifaceted subject that has the ability to inspire and challenge you for a lifetime.  Modern fly fishing scope can take you from your backyard pond catching sunfish that weigh just a few ounces, to the beautiful Bahamas where you can catch four-hundred pound blue marlin.  The possibilities are endless.

This course is where your journey begins.  It is designed to satisfy your curiosities and, hopefully, start you toward a lifetime of discovery.  To that end, we welcome you to the Bill Jackson School Of Fly Fishing and invite you to have the time of your life!

During this ninety-minute clinic, we will cover the following:

I.  Fly Fishing Equipment:   Fly rods, fly lines, leaders, and flies.  How it works and fits together.

II.  Fly Casting:  We will teach you how to make the foundation overhead cast.

III.  On The Water Strategies:  Once you've learned the foundation cast, we'll teach you how to lengthen your cast, cover the water, retrieve your fly, and finally, catch the fish.
